CS371p Spring 2021: Simon Xie

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in a small town in Guangdong, China, where there are less than 3 million people.

Why did you come to UT?

UT is the best public university in Texas, and before college, I lived in Texas and had no intention to go out of the state, so I chose the best in Texas.

Why are you majoring in CS?

I felt it would be fun to code for a living.

Why are you in this class?

I want to learn as much as I can for C++ and OOP, as it will definitely enhance my understanding of software design in the incoming career.

How much C++ do you already know?

I coded with C++ in my operating system class, so I know at least some of it.

How did you like the two lectures?

I felt they are good, and I could easily catch up.

How did you feel about the cold calling?

It could be stressful not knowing the answers, but it is not unacceptable.
